Professional Story
Hi, I'm Jack — a designer driven to make a thoughtful impact on people and the planet through innovation.

My degree in philosophy from York University (2016) honed my ability to think critically and creatively. It taught me to balance a broad, strategic perspective with an eye for detail, enabling me to uncover the underlying principles behind complex problems.

Afterward, I built a successful freelance career as a maker, production manager, and installation specialist. I worked in events, outdoor arts, and brand activation, building one-of-a-kind projects under tight deadlines and budgets. It was during these experiences that I discovered my true passion: the design process itself. This led me to complete a degree in Product and Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins—with First-Class Honors.

My diverse background gives me a unique perspective and a knack for out-of-the-box thinking and creative problem-solving. I thrive at the intersection of concept and practice, blending artistic insight with scientific precision to design novel, thoughtful, and impactful solutions.
Personal Story
I grew up in southeast London alongside three siblings, and today, I share my life with my partner, Steph, and our two cats, Ori & Ola (though I'm also a massive fan of dogs and geckos). Known as the family's resident DIY - or, for them, "outsource it yourself" - person.

My humour was shaped by growing up with Blackadder, Monty Python, Eddie Izzard, and Billy Connolly. Witty influences still colour the way I see the world. I love comedy, and laughter is always freeing. I am fortunate to have travelled a fair bit and crave adventure and new experiences. Whether it's going for walks, hikes, a cheeky skydive, or rock climbing (currently on hiatus after a broken ankle), I'm always looking for the next thrill. Sadly, I missed Glastonbury tickets this year. I'm a PC gamer (think Fallout, Witcher 3, Death Stranding, Hollow Knight, and Stardew Valley) and a big LOTR fan. I read a lot of non-fiction but recently switched things up for Isaac Asimov's Foundation series. I'm also getting into board games.

Friends and family are always a priority. Making and spending time with people is what I cherish most. I like cooking and eating and have a very guilty sweet tooth. I drink craft beer, and I'm probably a coffee snob. Dinners, exhibitions, theatre shows, gigs, neon life drawing or a comfortable rustic pub - I'm down.

I love people showing and sharing their passions with me. For me, new experiences bring fresh perspectives. I'm always looking for the next one.
